DermaSyn/Ag Silver Antimicrobial Wound Gel is a water-based primary wound dressing with ionic silver designed to hydrate wounds and promote maximum healing. It can be used for the management of acute or chronic partial and full-thickness wounds and ulcers that are dry or have minimal exudate. Ionic silver is an effective antimicrobial that has been shown to inhibit the growth of microorganisms and protect against internal and external contamination. DermaSyn/Ag Silver Wound Gel also incorporates the healing benefits of glycerin and aloe vera to soothe the wound site, accelerate the healing process, and protect against other potential irritants.

DermaSyn/Ag Silver Wound Gel is effective in use on thermal burns, stasis and diabetic ulcers, lacerations, abrasions, surgical incision sites, graft sites, and donor sites. It facilitates moist wound healing and supports autolytic debridement, whereby touch escar and slough are broken down via the body's natural processes. Autolytic debridement ensures that wound fluids stay in constant contact with the wound so it can heal properly. DermaSyn/Ag Silver Wound Gel requires a secondary dressing. A secondary dressing will add extra protection against infection, as well as better facilitate moist healing. Using both dressings in conjunction with one another will help keep the wound site free from infection, and facilitate optimal healing.
