Marathon Liquid Skin Protectant

Overview

Marathon Liquid Skin Protectant by MedLine is a liquid-applied skin protector for damaged and fragile skin. Marathon Protectant is made from cyanoacrylate monomers, which bond to the skin without leaving any gaps or openings that could cause maceration or infection. This product can be used on damaged or intact skin, periwound skin, and peristomal skin. Marathon is robust, flexible, and long-lasting making it ideal for wound care. It's also fast drying and breathable, preventing maceration and friction at the wound site. Marathon does not sting and can be spread using the sponge applicator, or dripped on and spread to achieve ideal skin protection.

This product is not for deep wounds, chronic or bleeding wounds, second or third-degree burns, or infected areas. Marathon should be changed every three days or sooner as needed. Overapplication of Marathon Liquid Protectant can result in decreased wear time but will provide a thicker flexible shield.

How to Apply

• Clean and dry skin before use. Manufacturer recommends using Remedy Antimicrobial Cleanser.
• Squeeze and break inner tube to release liquid protectant.
• Turn product so applicator sponge is at bottom of tube.
• Gently squeeze tube until sponge is primed.
• Rub applicator sponge around wound, covering at least 3/4 inches on fringes.
• If protectant begins to show signs of flaking, user may reapply.
